20/12/2007 - Nigel Shimmin to miss Final

Island Captain Nigel Shimmin is set to miss the Railway Cup Final as he is spending the Christmas holidays in Austria.

Robert Cottier is expected to move back to partner Steven Corkill at the heart of the Peel defence for next Wednesday afternoon's match at the Bowl.

17/12/2007 - Home tie in Association Cup draw

Peel has been given a favourable draw in the Association Cup Preliminary Round following the draw on Saturday evening. They will face Division Two strugglers Jurby in what will be the first meeting between the two sides in a senior Cup competition. The sides have met on four occasions in Division Two, with Peel winning all four matches as follows:(1995-96) 4-0 away and 2-0 home) and 1996-97 (9-0 home and 8-0 away). The match is scheduled for Saturday 5th January 2008, with a 1.15 p.m. kick off.

15/12/2007 - Peel fight back to reach Railway Cup Final

Holders Peel fought back from the shock of an early deficit this afternoon to claim their place in the Railway Cup Final, where on Boxing Day they will meet Premier League leaders St. George's.

It took the westerners some time in to get to grips with both their speedy opponents and the slippy Blackberry Lane pitch. However once Tony Duggan's breathtaking cross cum shot crashed into the roof of the net after 74 minutes, there was only going to be one winner.
