| Notes: |
Peel found themselves 2-0 down after 7 mins after a very hesitant and nervous start by stand in goalkeeper William Mitchell.
After two minutes he was slow to react to a long through ball, if he had come out quicker he would easily have dealt with it, however D.H.S.O.B. forward Gary Quirk raced onto the through ball and dispatched it into the corner.
Further disaster after seven minutes when he came to collect a ball at the edge of the box and slipped, leaving Dean France, who looked suspiciously offside, to run the ball into an empty net.
However Peel rallied well, at times playing their most entertaining and enterprising football of the season on a difficult and bobbly surface.
A good control and finish by Johnny Myers from a Lee Gale cross in the 29th minute reduced the arrears.
In the 35th minute the teams were level when Robert Cottier headed a ball back across the box to Nigel Shimmin whose header was saved and Kevin Megson was on hand to force the ball over the line.
Half-time: D.H.S.O.B. 2 Peel 2.
Peel were now in the ascendancy and started the second half brightly.
However further disaster struck in the 59th minute when Nigel Shimmin tried to head the ball back to goalkeeper William Mitchell, it fell short and Callum Stewart restored the lead for D.H.SOB.
However Peel were not to be denied and were back level in the 64th minute when Lee Gale smashed the ball home after a good lay off by Christopher Cain.
It was now an end to end game, which continued with Peel creating the lion’s share of the chances but found goalkeeper Halliday in commanding form.
There were no further goals but Peel could take heart from what was a much improved performance than of late and can hopefully take this in to the remainder of the season.
Full-time D.H.S.O.B. 3 Peel 3.
