| Notes: |
After only 2 minutes Kevin Pulman forced Kelvin Dawson to save low down.
28 Sloppy defence by Peel lets Kieran Quinn in – however his shot is just wide.
Michael United thwart their more illustrious opponents with Nick Hurt playing just in front of the back four whilst Peel’s possession advantage is let down by some poor passing/distribution.
H-T 0-0
50 Some great one touch football by the home side lets Kerron Christian in – his shot being turned away by ‘keeper Jamie Moffatt.
58 The visitors break through the middle. Kieran Quinn beat two defenders to the ball, and pushes it past Kelvin Dawson, who is well out of his goal.
64 Kerron Christian smashes the ball onto the bar.
74 Kerron Christian heads the ball back across the area to substitute Daniel Bell, whose shot also hits the bar as the pressure grows.
75 Daniel Bell’s shot is spilled by Jamie Moffatt and Johnny Myers is first to react and slides in for the equaliser.
82 Kerron Christian’s shot rebounds off the post; however he is first to the rebound and fires in Peel’s second.
85 A deep cross from the right by Andrew Crennell finds Johnny Myers at the far post and his downward header gives him a second goal in the game.
91 The impressive Marc Kelly curls the ball into the far post where Terry Rigaux guides the ball high into the net.
F-T 4-1
Michael United’s massed defence performed well though it was like a scene from the ‘Alamo’ at times during the second half. Once Terry Rigaux came on to exploit a tiring back line after 67 minutes/and Peel equalised 8 minutes later the floodgates opened though it had been a nervy time for the home supporters prior to that.
